About Me

My name is Mayhem, but I also go by Indigo. I'm 21 years old and I've been studying Japanese since I was in high school. I really got serious about it when I went to college, though, and majored in Japanese Language and Literature. I took four semesters of intensive Japanese language learning, but I left college after that for personal reasons.

I'm nowhere near fluent in Japanese; I call myself N4.5 because I'm quite confident placing myself between N5 and N4 level, though I'm trying to learn more every day. I rely heavily on online dictionaries, but I can guarantee that every translation on this site has been researched with care and nothing is machine translated.

Since college, I've had a very strong interest in the Japanese language, as well as linguistics and the sociology around language in general. I may add sections to the ends of my translations discussing these things, because at times, I think it's important for full context (and I find it interesting!)
